Powdered Metal Inlay with Phil Irons – July 1st
Specific Details: This demo is to show how to enhance cracks, shakes and small voids rather than trying to disguise them. So often I see work where a mixture of superglue and sawdust has been used as a filler with the resulting patch standing out as what it is. I will show how to use powdered metals, bronze, brass, copper, aluminium mixed with two-part epoxy glue or a mixture of them can enhance the imperfection rather than trying to disguise them. The technique can also be used to create interest in an otherwise bland piece of wood.
